I am getting a single 10w6v2 installed in a custom enclosure next week, it's going to be fabricated out of fiberglass. I can post pics when done. The location will be the back right of the trunk, where the plastic tray is. Your getting 3? Holy Sh*t That will bang like no other, nose bleeds even. Are you using the 1000/1 for all three subs? What is the other amp for, speakers? Below, I attached a link of a custom install. Basically this guy who removed his rear deck, built a new deck with angle iron, and dynamat. He then (i think) fiberglassed on top, but made 2 10" holes for the sub and 2 6" holes for the speakers to mount on the rear deck. I imagine, you could do the same but with 5 holes (3 for subs, 2 for speakers). It came out awsome. Have you considered just using 2 10w6v2's, I mean if you install on the deck, I can't imagine needing three of them. My guys told me the one with the enclosure will bang (even with the BMW trunks being so well insulated). I told them I want to feel it, rattle my teeth, etc, they told me I would be happy. If you mount to the rear deck, they will fire directly into the cabin, using the trunk as the enclosure. I would check out www.jlaudio.com to see if they can be used this way before you start. Hope this helps, make sure you take some pics during and after the install. Thanks

Hi RKJ,

the 1000/1 is for the 3 10W6v.2's. each 300/2 will be powering a set of JL XR525Csi component sets. I visited a shop today to get a quote and we came up with some good ideas. I think i'm gonna have a custom fiberglass amprack and enclosure for the subs. Then i'm gonna have it all covered with silver carbon fiber? I dont know? it's all a vision now. I still have a week or so before my equipment arrives so i have time to tweak the idea.

I'm more concerned with my headunit. I'm really hoping we can make some mods so i can install my double din eclipse AVN 2454. we'll see how it goes.

Mike

Here's my idea for something different from what I've seen on this site. Build a box for the subs and suspend it off the floor about 12 inches. Build a motorized amp rack that comes out like a dresser door.

Here's the catch. Take the amps apart, custom build a heatsink that makes both amps look like 1 big bad ass amp and then modifiy the housing to accept liquid cooling. Put the amps behind plexiglass or do some wild neon, glass, blacklight thing with the amp heatsink.

Its gonna cost some money and take time but it will be worth it.

If your using JL amps, which you are, there's really no need to build a custom heatsink, as all 3 can butt up againts each other, and it will look like 1 big amp if you have the room to do it. Did they reccomend where to put all 3 subs, in the trunk or on the deck? If you have the money, I would look into a custom enclosure for the rear deck, that way you won't take up the whole trunk and can still use it to carry stuff (golf clubs, luggage, etc...)

Yeah, a bit wild but I throw out those crazy ideas so maybe you'd get one yourself.

HEY NOW!!!
no need to get hostile. You're idea seems pretty sick. I'd just rather not spend 10k on an install.

I have some sick ideas too. I had a meeting with the installer today and I think we came up with a cool design. Install should start in about a week and a half.

Hey man... I currently have (3) 10W6V2 in the prowedge box from JL... http://jlaudio.com/enclosures/prowedge.html
Will take some pics...someday..
I am using a 500/1 JL amp and i am satisfied. I am assuning that you will be using the 1000/1 to power yours ? If i go with the 1000/1, I might have to get a cap.. and there will definitely be more rattles...

Let me know how it sounds....
