Very sad

AC not working, air comes out hot, took it to the dealer and they said its the compressor, no warranty about $1500 to replace, i have only two years with my car and only 18000 miles on it, have an Explorer with 85000 miles and not a single light bulb replaced, anyone know of a recall or something so i can sew the dealers a$$ off, or where to buy at good price the compressor, used or new??? very dissappointed with quality and service, any ideas???

I would go for a second advice on this...
Go to a specialised shop for A/C for an other evaluation.

here in Mexico only 1 year warranty, took it to another shop said the same but they couldnt get the new compressor, only from the dealer, thanks, even though the warranty is not valid anymore , if there is some time of general defect over this issue, it would help
toknow it and call BMW here in Mexico

Sorry to hear about your A/C, but remember, cars are comprised of a BUNCH of mechanical parts - any of which can fail at any time. The compressor is not a big deal. You're gonna get it fixed under warranty anyway, right? As long as it's not a major drivetrain component, I wouldn't sweat it. (no pun intended )

Buddy,

Here's what I would do if were you. I would get the p/n of this compressor, call Pacific BMW and see their prices, I bet you it is cheaper than those inflated prices that they practice in Polanco. Isn't it the name of the neighborhood that has the BMW dealership in Mexico City? (I am assuming that you are in Mexico City).

Here's the catch, although you can order from the dealer in Texas, most probably he will charge you an arm and a leg, so what you need to do is to buy from Pacific or Circle BMW, which are mail order dealers in the US and ask them to send it to you, Pacific will do, Circle won't so you will have to have someone that lives in the States receiving and then shipping it to you. Hope that helps.

You catch me here, I was just able to phonetically try to decipher something that I heard 5 or more years ago, about these two guys that were friends in Acapulco, one was from Mexico City and he would call the one in Monterrey, Tepezquincle, and the other guy would call this one chilango, but I am not even sure that was the word for the ones in Monterrey, so take my comments with a grain of salt as I might be totally wrong.

No!

Si no puesdes trata de consegirla en California, Pacific or Circle BMW, ayi te daran un buen precio.. eso espero!

Te deseo mucha suerte y que sigas disfurtandoo tu BMW
