Strong smell of gasoline

This has happened to me twice now - the weather has been very hot around here, and when I get back into the garage I can smell gasoline ( strongest on the driver side, less on the other side ).

Has anybody had problems of this type - is the fuel pump located on the driver side - I will give it few more days if it does not go away a trip to the dealer ( I hate going there ) will be required.

never had that problem - sounds a bit scary. i dont know about the fuel pump, but just found out that the gas tanks (one on each side) are plastic, maybe one of yours is compromised in some way?

btw- the reason i found out about the gas tank is that a groaning sound I just started hearing may be from the worn bushings on mine that is letting the tanks move around some.. if you look at the way they are bolted onto our cars its pretty cheesy - I'm surprised they couldnt do a better job and not use these cheap bound to wear out bushings
