Custom Mobile Phone Mount from Bimmian

Have you guys purchased those Custom Mobile Phone Mount from Bimmian? Any feedback on those mounts?

Is there any other good mounts out there?

Thanks,

I used to have the same mount they are peddling, but I didn't purchase it from them.

It's nice but I had two major problems with it. The weight of my phone kept pulling the trim piece off that holds it on. Also, passengers manage to kick it every time they get in. It's not as out of the way as it looks. Just keep in mind how small the E46 is on the inside.

I eventually gave up and made a custom cell phone install using the euro tray...

I have one in my car. I didnt buy it from Bimmian, but its the exact same thing. I really like it except for one thing. You have to remove the trim to access a bolt that the bracket mounts to.....when you put the trim back on, the bracket keeps the trim piece from going all the way back on and causes a small gap.

It's actually a hands free kit too. I bought the professional install kit from Verizon. You just remove the glove box and install it behind it. Then you run the microphone wire up the passenger A pillar and run the cord for the phone through the center console. Then you just drill out a little hole for the cord to come through. You have to remove most of the center console, but it's nothing a phillips screwdriver can't handle.

Just received mine yesterday

the quality of the product seems to be pretty good (the bracket is metal). I don't plan on installing it until Saturday, so I can't say for sure what the deal is with the gap. So far, it looks like it'll work for my phone.

The manufacturer of the product is Bracketron LLC, in case you want to look them up.

Bracketron Cell Phone Holder (from Bimmian)

Not sure how fussy you are about the look of your interior but the gap that's left between the stereo and the trim piece on top of the stereo is quite significiant. I'm not happy with how it looks, so I'm sending it back for a refund.

Oh well, live and learn...

What kit did you get? Got any pics?

Hey nnellans,

Thanks for the link... what kit did you get? I'm thinking about getting the angled mount for my phone and the console mount, angled for my DVD remote control.

Would you mind posting a pic, so I can see what it really looks like? Thanks
Beth Anne

Thanks for the pics

I won't be able to go with that setup since my screen will hit when it's open. The one I'm planning on getting is the one that mounts to the right of the headunit. Thanks for taking the time to share your pics! Much appreciated

I bought he bimmian one and just installed today - it took literally like 5 minutes to do and that was going slow... as for the weight of your phone pulling it off its virtually impossible because it uses an existing 10mm nut to hold it in place under your trim piece - my trim popped back on just as before - no gap and its on there securely - perfect fit and highly recommened - it looks and matches the car colors...
