Question For 2002 coupes, is there a retailer out there that sells OEM Xenon Headlight Kits?

To anyone who can help me,

For 2002 325ci/330ci bimmers, is there a retailer out there that sells OEM Xenon Headlight Assemblies w/ bulbs and ballasts? (Preferrably 6000K?) I know Bekkers, Evosport, Hids4less, and Bimmertoys do not carry the kits, only for 2001 and before. There seems to be no one out there who sells them.

Are there any 2002 coupe owners who bang their head every night b/c they regret not getting xenons as an option? Anyone looking for a retrofitted xenon kit and not able to find one? Tired of reading through millions of threads trying to find someone who knows something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have not seen any

for a 2002. I am sure they will start selling bi-xenons at least within a year if not a lot sooner. I noticed today that those rip off places like bekkers and evosport have jacked up their prices on their 99-01 xenon kits. just when i was about to buy it too.

I looked at the bekkers webpage and the xenons are not $800. It's $978 or something around there. I can't remember. Where can I get the whole thing for less than 800? And Ryan...to answer your question, the only things I wanted on my car when I bought it was SP, moonroof, leather, xenons but unfortunately I didnt order my car and the one on the lot had a stupid steptronic tranny and ugly halogens. BLAH. I am very impatient. School was almost starting and it was going to be a month or so before I could go looking for a car again with my parents.

In response to RyanDe680, I got my bimmer from the lot that had every option I wanted except for the xenons. I didn't have the patience to wait 3 months for one to ship over from Germany. Also, I always see a bunch of little japanese cars had have retrofitted xenon lights so I figured it wouldn't be too hard to find them for my bimmer. Little did I know....

By the way, I spoke to someone at Bekkers (and at Evosports, Hids4less, & Bimmer Toys) and none of them have the xenons for 2002 coupes. Someone in the thread mentioned that Bekkers has them. Are you sure? If so, are they rated 6000K?

Cool, thanks Phil02E46 for that photo....I guess the guy I spoke to earlier didn't know what he was talking about. I'm gonna give Bekker's a call on Monday and see if they are 4300K or 6000K.

I'll update everyone after I give them a call...maybe others (2002 coupe owners who want xenons) are interested in a group buy. I'm sure they'll offer a discounted price.

i also didn't have the patience to wait three months for a custom that i wanted...however, they had a black one on the lot with the options i wanted EXCEPT the bi-xenons. I regret not getting xenons!?!?!?!? but i can wait because i'm in the process of getting some 19 HM2..yay!

Ok, here's the deal:

I just spoke to Bekker's and they do carry xenon kits for 2002 coupes (very limited supply). HOWEVER...these are the OEM kits so they are rated at only 4300K, NOT the cool 6000K's everyone's been talking about.

I also confirmed that the headlight assemblies for the 2002 coupes ARE different from the 2001 and below models. So for you 2002 coupe owners, if you see xenon kits for E46's, but they are for 2001 and below, DO NOT BUY THEM!

So...I guess I'm SH#$ out of luck... I hope at least ONE retailer will start to carry 6000K xenon kits for my car. I just hope it will be soon. Until then, I will continue to bang my head against a wall in regret...

If anyone finds a retailer (that I haven't mentioned) that carries them, PLEASE let me know. Thank you...

Try your dealer. According to item #9, page 65 of the german 3-series accessories catalog, you can get an OEM Bi-Xenon retrofit kit. The part numbers listed are:

built after 09/2001-
Coupe & Cabrio: 63 12 0 141 698
Sedan & Touring: 63 12 0 141 622

If your dealer will order them, let everyone know.

the 6000 k xenons are just the bulbs. if you were to buy a 6000k xenon kit it would cost about 2-300 dollars more than the 4300k xenon kit, just about the same price as the bulbs themselves.

and you can put 2002 headlight assemblies into a pre-2002 coupe (and vice versa), u just need the corners that screw on.

Hey KWiK, which catalog are you refering to, and where can I get one?!

lyon123, I don't think it's as simple as putting a 2002 headlight assembly into a pre-2002 and vice versa; they are completely different housings. The 2002 comes with the new bi-xenons whereas the pre-2002 offer only the low-beams as xenons. This has been confirmed with a dealer.

Those part numbers are from the German 3-Series Accessories Catalog. The only place I know of to get one is a BMW dealer in Germany. Give the number to your local dealer and see if he will order it.

I asked my dealer about installing xenons and the guy said that it is impractical because they have to replace the whole unit and it would triple who much it would of cost from the factory, so over 2k. What is the difference between the xenons at places like bekkers, and the ones that come from the factory?

if you're talking about a coupe, i don't think there's much difference other than how the corner lights are held in place.

choson1 put 02 bixenons into his 01 coupe. so i don't see why you couldn't do the reverse.

The only thing you lose is the autoleveling feature that comes with factory installed xenons..
