ok guys.. tell me what you think about it.. I love the way the coupe look with the painted side. But all the sedan have that ugly black molding on the side... So i just had to get it painted... So I hope you guys like it.. I think it came out good.. after 4hrs of painting and 2hrs of clears.. not bad.. hehehehe

I guess that is a quick way to do it, but the silver looks a little off in the picture. Interestingly enough, however, it kinda looks cool with a tiny different shade of silver. I have a black car so I don't really see the point in doing it, but if I were going to do it, I think I would tend to use a professional's hand rather than spray paint...

Looks good to me. Unless someone walks right up to the car, it looks fine to me.

how much does a proffessional job cost?

i have a steel grey 2001 325i. does anyone know how much it will cost? also, if i have them paint a spoiler at the same time will it be a lot cheaper than doing it all seperately?

doing anything together or at the same time will be cheaper.... it would be alot cheaper if you that everything off the car and just let them paint the parts instead of leaving it on the car..

now all you need is the m-technik front bumper, and then you are set.

If you get the M-Tech front bumper (or any bumper for that matter), get that piece professionally painted (unlike the side moldings).

That looks great! I think it looks a different color because of the way the light and stuff around the car reflect off the trim but I kind of like that off color from the body paint.

What brand of clear did you use? Where did you purchase em? Thanks.

Spoke to Dan Perdue at Cutter Motors last week. Clears for our '02 sedans are not available through our local dealers. The only way we can get them at this point is through an importer such as Maximillian or Bekkers. Much pricier than getting it through the dealer, but it seems like it's the only way at this point in time.

FYI, they're not available from U.S. dealers because of DOT regulations.

Not bad for a DIY job. Other than the silver doesn't match too well, it looks good.

the clear was from "Platsti-kate, Import color".. clear.. I forgot the number.. but it was the only clear there.. remember to use thin layers, but no too thin.. thin wet layer... oh and it's from pep boys auto,. you can find it at any large auto parts store. and no the Sky in the 4th picture is not real.. next door was just under major work..

And yes cuz of this.. I did save myself about 100-125 bucks..

thanks JL.. .. I'll guess I just have to wait for the clears... this suck.. I should have gotten the 01' 330i..
