DVD Question...

i was wonderin if the pioneer DVD HU's...like the avh-p7500dvd and the avic-n1... play such files like: .avi, mpeg, mpg, wmv ?? can i burn these files into a blank DVD and play it?

nope... but you can burn them first into vcd format then u can play it with your in dash

so ur sayin that i would have to convert those files into vcd format?

yes, you'll have to use program like nero to burn mpeg1 files into vcd

other files like avi or wmv, you might have to convert them into mpeg before burning with nero

this is how we do it with music videos and such so we can watch it in the car

so thats only to regular CD-R's... rite? and there's no way i can put it into 4.7 gig blank DVD's and play music vid's and stuff?

that is a good question, i haven't tried burning them on to a dvd yet, but even if you could burn all thoes music videos on a blank dvd, you have to make sure your indash dvd player plays DVD-R/RW

I have a Pioneer unit (older DVD/screen) and it does play burned DVDs (as long as they are in a "standard" format).
