new Icelink v1.1 available soon!

For those who have been looking into integrating your ipods to your e46, dension finally released their latest icelink connector. Theyre accepting pre-orders now.

Very intersting. Thanks for the link

From their website, it looks like it designed to be inside the car. Is there any reason why you couln't just mount the ipod in the trunk, and be done with it?

Also, any idea when the pioneer version is slated to be released?

thanks,

rob

Yes, from my understanding, you can just mount it in the ipod. Its actually easier to do it that way, since you wont have to string it all the way to the front of the cabin. If you have plans to keep the ipod in the trunk though, id get the older generation icelink. This new generation icelink is better because it uses only the docking port on the ipod for controls, battery charging and audio. The first generatin icelink had two seperate connectors: one for audio outpout using the headphone jack, and the docking port to power and control the ipod.

Ask lonnie_28 about it. He has the first generation icelink hooked up.

Not sure when the pioneer version will be out. I'd try emailing dension directly. They'll usually reply to emails within 2 weeks.
