It is the absolute best and now even better (Stealth One )The V1 can be fully integrated into your radio or nav display for complete stealth use and installation.

Why are the V1's so good? I hear only positive things about them...a friend of mine told me they pick up on the police CB radio frequency...that sounds like BS to me...if they did that would be awesome...he says the thing has never missed a cop! They're pretty expensive....why should someone choose a V1 over a beltronics or a less expensive radar detector?

the arrows. It doesn't pick up police CB radios. Just radar and lasar signals. It's great cuz it is really sensitive so it has great range. But the arrows are why everyone loves the V1.

Jesus, man. Enough with the daily V1 group jerkoff. There's nothing more that can be said unless there's a major revision.

That said, it saves me almost every time I drive on the interstate

Isn't the V1 getting old? They haven't changed the radar in 2 yrs. How does it compete with the newer ones that are coming out such as the Passport X50 (Their newest model)?

lol. If ur interested in a V1 do a search, people bring up the v1 on an almost daily basis on the forum. My dad has one in his car, and it has saved my ass many times and i'm sure it's saved his ass too. That being said, just get one

V1 hands down the best radar available out there for a few reasons:

1) Range, detects farther than other radars
2) Arrows allows easy detection of where the signal is coming from
3) Multiple bogey counter tells you how many radars there may be
4) Remote display capability

Product upgradability

Some people have told me that the new Passport X50 has a farther range than the V1 and is more sensitive. It's also a lot louder.

How is the V1 technology still superior to the newer models?

www.radarbusters.com has a lot of info about detectors and some tests from the owner of the site. I am decided between an X50 and Valentine right now and can't really decide. You can get an X50 (red display) shipped for 269.99, which is a lot cheaper than 399.99. Plus, I have a feeling Valentine is going to bring a new model soon to compete with the X50. But, if price was no issue I would probably choose the Valentine for the arrows and the resale value.
