Is it a direct swap???
Hi,
Can you tell me if I have to do any mods to put to integrate this HK system in with my current stock system??? Is it a direct swap???  Thanks Studio |

should be a direct swap should work....the systems is out of my 2001 e46 coupe...just to be sure, check with your dealer...i would not want it not to fit.....let me know, and thanks for the interest

Not a direct swap.
The HK system and the standard stock have different impedance (HK 3 ohms, standard 8 ohm). Also the amps have built in crossover points which have to be different if you have different impedances on each speaker. YOu would have to replace the amp as well as the speakers. The HK amp is physically smaller as well. Also you would need to retrofit the wiring harness of a stock amp to send L R signal to the HK subs in the trunk. (remote turn on switch too). It can be done though. But it is a bit more involved than a simple drop in.
