Satellite radio options for 2002 M3

I have a 2002 M3 w/ NAV (10/01 build date), is there any hope of upgrading firmware to the 2004 so that I can get satellite radio?

I really want to add Sirius but don't want to use an FM modulator.

Any other ways of adding an aux input or tying it directly into the amplifier?

I'm not sure about upgrading the firmware. All messages I've ever read on the subject tell how peeps just buy a new radio with the correct firmware. There is a special kit that is needed to use Sirius with Nav equipped cars if you don't want to go the FM modulator route. The kit is really new and is supposedly available now. I've seen a few posts on bimmerfest.com from people claiming to have factory nav and sirius. Check with your local dealer. Circle BMW's parts website hasn't been updated and still says 1st quarter of 2004 for release of the kit.
