Needless to say, this makes it a real pain in the neck to remove and reinstall a wheel. If you've ever had a flat tire with your BMW then you know what I mean. Since there are no wheel studs to hold the wheel in place you're stuck there holding a very heavy tire in the air while you try and line up the holes to install a wheel bolt. I always end up getting the dirt and grease from the tire on my clothes as I try to hold the tire with my left hand and my opposing knee while trying to insert a wheel bolt with my right hand. It's not fun.

Fortunately there is an inexpensive tool that will make this chore a lot easier. It's called a wheel pin and it's made by BMW. It even fits inside your toolkit in the trunk. At about $5 from any BMW parts counter, it really makes me wonder why BMW didn't include this in the toolkit with the car. There's even a space in the toolkit in the trunk that looks like it was meant to house this tool.

To use the wheel pin you simply press the plastic end into one of the holes where you would screw in a wheel bolt. Then you slide your wheel onto it through one of the wheel bolt holes in the wheel. Now that the weight is supported you can put in the wheel bolts much easier.

Okay, I'll ask the obvious question since nobody else did. If it's $5 from any BMW parts counter, subtract BMW CCA discount and you get $4.50, add in tax at an average of 8% = $4.86

So why should we purchase this for $6?

Because I had an extra one, And I felt that $6 bucks would cover my cost and cover my shipping cost to someone in Canada if someone there chose to buy it. As well i tried to cover my paypal percentage which sucks big time. If i made $.12 on this i would be suprised. I was jsut trying to get ym money back and help a fanatic out who was interested in having one shipped to thier door rather then go to the delaer and get one. $6 seems fair doesnt it?... AND ITS SOLD ANYWAYS!
