I bought a 10" W7 in a pro wedge and a 500 watt jl amp....help please......

Okay well I recently bought the 10 inch W7 in a pro wedge box along with a jl audio 500/1 amp to power it.

What do you people think is the ideal way to have the sub facing. Should i remove the ski pass and have it mounted to the top of the trunk so i can still get to my tire pressure thing in case i get a flat and this would mena having the sub facing the front of the car or simply just have it facing towards the trunk?

First, double check to make sure that the box design meets manufacturer's reccomendations (volume, porting, etc.). I am not familiar with a "pro wedge box", since I always custom build boxes.

Secondly, the best way to determine what works best as far as placement is to experiment. place the box behind the seat facing forward for a day, facing backwards another day, maybe in a corner towards the rear a third day, take drives and listen to what sounds better. Having said that, typically behind the seat facing backwards works best for sedans.

Also, removing the sky pass plate and rear speakers/hk subs (if not used) will help by allowing better sound transfer to the cabin.

The pro wedge is made by JL so it meets their specs, I agree to trying it in different positions before deciding.
