My Ride: Race Cars
Heres is the post of my previous experience at the drag strip( http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...hlight=1%2F8th ) my best run was a 9.608@74.44 with a 60' of 2.300.
I was very satisfied tonight as i tied my previous goal of 9.4(read previous thread). I think with a lil more work i can hit 9.3s. However my most important thing learned tonight was that i need LSD. Screw doing exhaust and CAI, i need traction and with one i could shave off .2-.3 seconds. I think my goal is to run a 8.999(with LSD and exhaust and CAI, or sumthing like that). However, im going again this sunday and hope to break into the 9.3s.

Some side notes:
__saw an SS camaro run a 9.6
__Raced a pretty heavly modded evo with no interior whatsoever(well 2 seats, but no dash, carpet or anything. My frined told me he ran a 7.8 sometime, but when i raced him he ran a 8.4
__lost to stripped civic hatch turbo, ran a like 8.4 also.

why did you time a 1/8 of a mile most times are for 1/4 mile time. get on your car slicks or 1/2 1/2 perf tires then you can drop another .5 i say

Hey man I noticed that you are in Ft. Worth. Do you go to Kennedale to race? Here are my times last time I went to Kennedale:Here is what I ran at the track a few weeks back and the thread I posted:

Hey guys my brother and I went to the track again tonight to see how our cars would fair with new mods and a cool night (55 degrees F). Back in mid July (94 degree heat and high humidity) when my 330 was bone stock my best run was:
R/T 0.234 sec.
60' 2.244 sec.
1/8 mile 9.715 @ 72.78 mph

I was curious as to how much my GRuppeM intake and Technik ECU software upgrade would help my times. Well here are the results:
Outside Temp: 55 degrees F
Last two runs of the evening:

R/T 0.486 sec.
60' 2.273 sec.
1/8 mile 9.557 @ 73.05 mph

R/T 0.263 sec.
60' 2.240 sec.
1/8 mile 9.553 @ 73.56 mph

I was very happy with the results. I was able to shave off 0.162 seconds on my best run. My worst 1/8th mile time of the night was 9.708 @ 74.56 mph with the other 5 runs ranging between 9.59 @73.64 mph to 9.674 @ 73.48 mph.

My bro and I might go out cruising around tonight and if you want to meet up somewhere let me know. Later.

Hey man did you make it out to the track on Sunday evening? I had to be at work at 10:00 p.m. so I was unable to make it. My bro (Millenium yellow Z06) and I are planning on going to the track on Thursday evening.

My best time in my 325i 5-speed is
60'-2.245
1/8-9.685
MPH-72.79
1/4- 15.000
MPH-93.64
I guess the 325's and the 330's are not too far apart.

WOW, wtf? So a 330ci gets to 74.63mph in 9.430 seconds, while a 325 gets to 72.79mph in 9.685seconds? Awesome numbers man but now im kinda sad. I mean my car is going 2mph faster and .25 seconds quicker throught the 1/8th? Do u have any mods or sumthing?

Also your 60ft is better than mine. On this run what were your tires pressures and any sorta aftermarket diff? Oh yea and what tires?

Yea, I do have a few mods, no diff yet.., stock my car could barely hit 15.6 in the 1/4, plus i have alot of pracitce at the track cuz its cheep and they do it every wed.
With alittle practice I am sure that you can improve alot on your times, its all in the launch.

I really dont think i can do much better. My first visit to the track i was running 9.6s, second vists(now)im running 9.4s. I think i can run a 9.3 but beyond that i dont really think so. Ive gotten the launch down pretty good> i usually just hold the rpm to about a steady 2800-2900rpm, and basically just about dump the clutch with a little wheel spin. The 1-2 shift i chirp the tires, do i lose time doing that?
