Steering wheel R/T button

I'm not sure if this has been covered before, but I have a quick question about the steering wheel R/T button. I recently purchased a CPO 2003 325i (non-HK sound), and I'm wondering if the R/T button is supposed to do anything. I thought it would function to toggle through radio/CD/etc., but it doesn't seem to work at all. I do not have the installed telephone. Should it work? Has anyone else had problems with it? Should I bring the car back to the dealer for repair? Being able to control the volume and track/station with the wheel but having to find the button on the dash to change inputs is getting annoying!

Your car is working properly. The R/T button is to switch from radio (or CD, tape, MD, etc.) to the TELEPHONE (if you have one). Otherwise it does nothing.

Thanks for the reply. I hoped it would work as a source selector, but it's good to know that it's working properly!
