At redline....If you want the best times, shift as late as possible. Also, if you are going for the best times at launch, you need peel out a little bit, but not too much as you will spin in one place. Also, when you are shifting, do not lift your foot off the throttle all the way, and mash the gas as soon as you get in gear...Hope this helps.

PS. Turn off your Air Conditioner and Traction control(all the way off).

Here is a movie of me launching....I think this was a pretty good launch. I don't waste too much time smoking the tires. Anyways, I did it at around 3000rpm(i have Max Performance summer tires)....

PS. Resize your video player to 200%.

what are some of ur 1/4 times and 0-60 ?

here is what i find out so far... if i shift at REDLINE every gear... i get better 1/4 mile time... but 0-60 is not as good. if i shift after 6kish i get way better 0-60, not as good as 1/4 time. so i have heard profesional drivers have taken an stock m3 below 13 befor... but they study the dyno charts everyday i'm sure. they know extactly when to shift in every gear....

getter ACS short shift kit put in tomorrow, hope that helps.....

DSC, the bmw version of traction control indivisually brakes the wheels that are spinning faster than the other wheels...For a good launch(ie faster 0-60 and 1/4 times), you actually want some wheelspin, but not too much. With traction control on, when you launch the car will brake the wheels that are spinning, slowing down your momentum and giving you crappy times.

PS. It is physically impossible to get better times when shifting below redline....unless you have like 500+rwhp car and TRACTION is an issue. Turn of DSC all the way(hold for 10seonds until ebrake light turns off) and then try your run again.
