May 30, 2004 BMW CCALA Auto-X

Well, the LA Chapter of BMW CCA did an outstanding job putting-on an auto-x on May 30th. I never realized how much work those things are to run! Thanks to all the dedicated volunteers!

There was a great field of E46's with some amazingly fast M3's.

There was one E39 M5 with an aftermarket exhaust that sounded amazing! All the guys with ZHP seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves too!

It was nice to see a Mini Cooper S out there. There were also many other brands including an Audi RS6 and an S4, 2 miatas, a 350z, Mazda MX-6, Ford Focus, Acuta CL (first generation) and others I am forgetting.

As for me, I was shocked to win C class with my unmodified 330i sport. It was interesting to note that there was so much grip on that surface that I left adb (or abd, which ever it is) on and it did not slow me down.

If anybody is interested in any in-car video clips, let me know.

Glad you had fun! I love autoxing but usually go the SCCA route...I gotta get out to some of those CCA events.
