One of the many wierd high pitched noises: Solved
I had my 1st resonator deleted two weeks ago and ever since, I've had been a wierd high pitched rattling sound coming from underneath the car. Put the car on my ramps tonight, took a look underneath, and I found that the exhaust bracket that bolts to the bottom of the tranny was rusted off right above the pipes (used cars are great
). The extra vibration from removing the resonator caused the pipes to vibrate against the broken bracket, which caused a rather annoying high pitched noise. I unbolted the bracket from the tranny and voila, no more obnoxious noise. With my luck I'm the only one with this problem, but with the significant amount of "high pitched noise" threads I figured I'd post it to add another cause to the list.

The same thing happened on my car. Are you going to replace that bracket?

No I'm not going to replace it. Upon my inspection it wasn't providing much support, and since I cut out that first resonator, I just have straight pipes there now. My bracket has been out for a while and I haven't had any problems yet.

I had the same problem a while back, and yes this gets very annoying as it rattles with the rpms. Got them replaced as they were fairly cheap parts.
