3.15 rear diff for sale... perfect for 5spd 330!!!
I have a 3.15 rear diff for sale that I got out of my 325ci. It is the perfect ratio for a 5spd manual 330. This is basically the same differential you get from Dinan. It is in perfect condition, no leaks, has BMW's lifetime diff fluid.
It is available for SoCal pic up, so make an offer. take care |

Differential
Does anyone know if a 3.38 would result in too high revving for a 328i. I'm trying to decide between tthe 3.38 and 3.15, and also already have the shark injector installed. Any input from experience would be appreciated.

I don't know about the 328 (I think it comes factory with a 3.07 so going to a 3.15 is not to big a jump & maybe not worth it), but with the 330 5spd the factory diff is a 2.93 something. Going to a 3.15 is a good upgrade, you can do a search on this if you want. The 325 on the other hand comes with a 3.15 & going to a 3.46 is a good upgrade. Anything above these on these cars is going to be to high a rev. If you have the newer 330 with a 6spd, then you can go as high as 3.64 and not have too much of a problem.
Acceleration wise, you will notice a big difference in getting a 3.15 for a 330 or a 3.46 for a 325. Changing the differential to a higher ratio gets you the biggest bang for the buck!!! And then getting software to raise the redline is just icing on the cake. You can spend 300 dollars on an intake and not get that much more acceleration, or you can spend the same on a higher ratio diff and knock a good .5 seconds off of your 0-60 time. The diff is still for sale, but I am trying to find SoCal buyers, if I can't find any SoCal buyers then I will gladly send it out. |
