Question who here never lets there gas tank go less than half full??

who here never lest there gas tank go below a half or a quarter of a tank? From wut i understand.... a lot of crap builds up on the bottom of ur tank and thats not good for ur engine. But correct me if im wrong..........over time if u never run through the bottom half of ur tank......wont that crap just fill up and over the half mark and u would be burning that stuff after while anyway. If u run ur tank down every time u dont give that crud a chance to build up in ur tank.........Might sound wierd but i was just pondering on it this morning as i was filling up at exxon

I dont see why it would be bad to run it till empty, all the sediment stays at the bottom of the tank right? Isnt gasoline drawn from the bottom of the tank anyway? So theres no difference, Ill take my tank down to an 1/8th.

I dont drive that much with my car, only to school and back which is only 3 miles and I will go to the movies with my gf but other than that, it isnt a high mileage car, so once a week during my free period, I will go and fill it up which is usually only 1/2 a tank so I fill about 8 gallons at a time. I could let it run down, doesn't bother me, I just like to have a full tank...

I think I've gone down to about 5 or 7 on the "miles left" meter. I'm pretty much running on fumes.

Careful about running on fumes

If you drive in different conditions (highway vs local or very hard and then like a reasonable person) on two consecutive tanks, the computer CAN be fooled.

I KNOW ...

I RAN OUT OF GAS with 34 miles on the computer! (I have gone down to 0 miles on several other occassions).

Yes, I can afford the gas...
