Tire dilemma...
Been getting obsurdly loud road noise at low speeds (from the front end). Asked the dealer to check it 3 times... They said everything is A-okay
Finally an answer today! Took my car to Bullet Performance here in Costa Mesa. Mickey, the owner took my car around the block to see what all the noise was about. We get back, and he starts checking the front tires. He has me rub my had around the inside track of the tire... Egg shaped lumps EVERYWHERE. Here's my Dilemma. Currently the car is Running Pirelli Nero's in the rear 255/35zr18's. Fronts are Pirelli P-zero Rosso's 225/40zr18's. I'm stuck at what tire to buy. The Rosso's look sweet, but people complain that they pull all over the road and wear fast (exactly what i was expierencing and I F_U_C_King hate it). So i dont want to get Rosso's again, unless maybe a new front set will cure the issue . I don't want to get Nero's up front because even though i'd have all matching tires, they have bulky sidewalls, wear quick, and also follow lines in the road What do I do? If i go to another tire brand I'll have to buy all 4 (sorry, but I'll mix models, but not brands). Suggestions please!!!If it matters, I'm running 18" Breyton Magics Last edited by braymond141; 07-14-2004 at 07:59 PM. |

Get Bridgestone SO-3. Grip especially well in rain. One time it was rain so hard, visibility is only about 1 car length. I was going 80 mph without any sign of hydroplanning. I had to slow down coz visibility was so bad. SO-3 is cheap compare to Pilot Sports. It wears great. My tires still look 88% new after 10000 miles.
If I get new rims, I may try Pilot Sports PS2 or Goodyear GS-D3. Pilot is most expensive but great performance. Goodyear is even cheaper than SO-3.

If your tires are cupped, don't take to the same alignment shop! Bad alignment is the number 1 cause of cupping.

I have the P Zero Neros all around and I think the sidewalls are great and protect my rims, also I dont have all that pulling and fast wear you talking about either, but maybe its because I have the M&S version with 400 tread wear.
