HELP - Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S vs Bridgestone RE950 , GARY?
got new 18x7.5 rims , need 225/40 18 performance all-season tires.
please help me decide. Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S vs Bridgestone RE950 ultra high perf 400 AA A vs high perf 400 A A cheaper vs more expensive plain tread vs agressive tread unknow weight vs 25 lbs. less waranty vs more waranty Gary and others who have used these tires, what's the weight of the Pzero Nero M+S in 225/40 18? Bridgestone seems more high tech (like AQ-II) or is it just marketing? I plan to own these for a long time and which would be better in the long run? I read the Nero's are quite and I read they are loud after some wearing, can anyone comment? I also read the Nero's tramline, is it true? thanks |

Careful not to confuse the Nero summer tire with the Nero M+S. The M+S Nero has not had a reputation for getting loud and does not tramline much. Unfortunately MANY confuse these two models and that confusion can leak into survey results. So much so that I was the M+S tire had a different name than the summer tire.
Tire weight will be near irrelevant in an all season tire, but for the record, the M+S Nero is 23lbs. Best way to decide and largest difference in these two : The RE950 will wear longer and have a softer ride. The Nero M+S will have faster steering response, as well as better dry traction. Both are outstanding wet traction tires. Hope this helps simplify things a bit http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=BN4&...ires/index.jsp
