I cannot for the life of me fit the heater core back into the original place and connect both tubes into the right place anyone know why this is happening?

Heater core replacement

There's a thread about this very subject on this forum. Search for it.

Is the new core OEM or aftermarket?

Did you have coolant leakage at those plastic pipe connections?
I've got coolant loss, suspecting that it could be there
