ALL CAPS.............FOR A REASON!

I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IF ANYTHING WE ARE DOING ABOUT THIS (BESIDES coming up with our own fix's).......I.E. GETTING BMW TO STEP UP!

I AM BEYOND PISSED.......AND IF WE GET NOTHING (WHAT we will get if we say nothing) THEN AT LEAST THE WORLD WILL KNOW THE TRUE REPUTATION OF BMW!

1 CLASS ACTION SUIT.....CAN WE GET ANOTHER........WAY TO MANY OWNERS TO BE IGNORED, SO ARE WE JUST TO DUMP ALL THESE CARS!!!!!!!!

MFer! WRONG TIME OF THE YEAR FOR THIS TO BE HAPPENING!

Fold down rear seats here. Turner kit welded on, crack repaired, subframe bushings replaced, diff bushings replaced, CSB, and guibo all came to 2300. Sure sucks, but my car is bulletproof feeling now. BMW NA tried to deny they ever even heard of the class action settlement when I called, and also told me "Well, sir, the car is an old car" Basically wtf haven't you just bought a new 3 series every 3 year and never rack over 80,000 miles on them like you're supposed to do.

1999 328i manual, ~195K. 4" crack discovered during inspection in fall 2009, covered under class action suit and repaired by dealer in Dec 2009. Replaced entire floorboard. Would not cover loaner or rental car. My only expense was $300 plus parts to replace subframe and RTAB bushings.
I do not have the fold down rear seat.

Hell no! I paid for it all. They wouldn't even look at my car without charging me

I didn't even bother pressing the issue, being that I had 18" CSLs, slammed on KWs, and a myriad of other aftermarket suspension parts.

I thought so..........was going to go to the stealer myself but then one of the service desk staff called me back and said she couldn't find the Recall notice for this was I sure it wasn't a Service bulletin.......?

So when I Googled it..........it came back Class Action suit.........And your car could not be modified with anything including bigger rims......! SO I canceled that appointment.......better to use that cash for repair or another vehicle!

To bad I'm not near you cause all that for that price (Never in NY) is a steal!

I'm curious as to where everyone is getting their work done on this. I would imagine Turner Motorsport would be a good place to have this work done, but are there any other shops around the country that might have seen a bit more of this work than normal, and thus have experience with the issue? It's a pretty specific issue that would probably be better handled by shops with experience. I'd like to know in case I find myself having to do this in the future.

yea plus it was a settlement too, so now they can't be held liable ever again. They used to fix them sometmes after the settlement went down, just out of good grace, but as they just told me; they're now just telling you to move on and that these are old ass cars, basically deal with it.

Well I got a great deal on the kit and bushings form a guy off here. M3 subframe bushings from turner were very pricey though, but then all the labor came to 1700. Had to replace both secondary O2s even after all that welding. I have a great shop that works 90% on imports & modded cars, and specializes in custom fabrication as well. if you can get your car to zip 19382 you can have your car repaired for similar price.

310) Pavlov55 - 2000 323I 188000km rear subframe mounts cracked L>R. Just bought the car in December 2013 - 3rd owner. No previous repairs. Shop suggests opening up from trunk - like a sardine can - welding in plates, and closing it up. No estimate on cost. I'm in Toronto.

311) acire - 2000 BMW 323i - 130k miles; M/T; Rear subframe reinforced on 3/31/14 with Turner Motorsports Kit prior to any severe damage (And I think he may have also used the BMW "repair" to further reinforce it...not 100% certain). There was a 2-3" crack starting to appear. Also had various bushings and left/right axle shafts replaced at the same time for a grand total of $2600.

(Seats are fixed not the fold down)

312) Semblance - 2000 328i - had about 180k on it when the subframe cracked through this past winter, had the dreaded clunk in gear. Had it fixed from above (through the trunk), cost about $2200 - ugh.
