Mtx Amp/subs

Has anyone out there heard an E-46 with a MTX amp/subs combination? I'm looking at a pair of 8000 series 12" subs and 8000 series mono amp. It's not my first choice but I can get them for almost nothing. Has anyone gone this route or heard a setup in someone elses car?

Have you tried 9500? I'd like to say I'm looking for sound quality, but the reality is I listen to hard rock/heavy metal, so I don't think my ears are as sensitive as I'd like to believe. I've got MB Quart mids and tweeds in the front and rear, I'm just a little sketchy on the MTX.

nope, but from what i hear. They have pretty decent SQ.

If SQ is your goal,

look into

JL, Re Audio, Adire, ID, OZ, ....

MTX is kind of similar to RF. Widely available and have product lines from crappy to excellent.

I'm not sure about the newer ones but you shouldn't be disappointed if you go with MTX's higher quality lines,

Thanks for the input. I'll try the higher end MTX for the amps and subs, and stick with MB Quarts for the mids/tweeds. I'll be installing it over the next 3 days and I'll leave an update re: the quality of MTX for future ref.
