2004 SCCA SoloII Regional DSP Champion!

OK, I know there is a VERY small track/autox crowd on this board, but I'll post this anyways. Today, I won my class in the final local SCCA event here in Southern California (LA/OC) and won the D-Street Prepared class 2004. I won't go into detail here as I posted a writeup about it on my website which can be found here. I know that some other drivers here have won in their regions, such as AndyZHP. I'm honored to join their ranks and am proud to represent. Too bad I won't get the cool trophy you get at car shows (we just get an embroidered jacket), but hey I'll take it.

I won it today for BMW, for all e46Fanatics, and most importantly for all automatic/steptronic drivers out there .

Here's some pics I took of my car at recent events (Nobody takes good pics of me when I'm driving ).

Great job Shinobi !!

So what are your plans and goals for next year? Do you plan to stay in DSP?

I'll be running STX next year. My goal for next year is a divisional (CENDIV) championship and to place top 5 at nationals. I think the divisional goal will be reachable, the national goal... well, that one's gonna be tough.

Continue to set those goals high!!

Thanks Guys...like I said, I am very happy to represent the Fanatics.

Regarding my plans next year, I'm taking a break in 2005. I sold my racing wheels and won't be participating again until 2006, in which case it was really cool to finish on top like this.

As for Steptronic in autocross...it helps in the beginning when you don't have to worry about shifting or heel-toe, but as you get better, overall it hurts because it is very dependent on an automatic friendly course design. I've been through lots of courses, and even with the Dinan software, there are times when the transmission will just not do what you want it to do. I've obviously been successful with the automatic, but a manual tranny will provide better performance.

The SCCA Solo II nationals was in Topeka. Was the DC one a regional event?

He’s referring to the SCCA National Tour event that took place in DC on May 29th and 30th. This was the same event TeamM3 and Clyde co-drove the RX-8 in B Stock.

Here were the results…
