Aux adaptor
does anyone know why the aux adaptor part #82110149391 is only for MY2003 or newer?
Where can I buy the AUX adaptor that works for MY2001. |

We use this adapter for any auxillary input needs. It simply provides the audio input, not a text readout or anything like that.
http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com/pr...hp/II=321/PA=0 You will also need some RCA cables to run to the front of the vehicle to trasmit the audio from your device to the OEM sound system. And yes, you simply plug the CD Changer wires into this adapter, and voila!

I'm probaly going to spend the hundred bucks on the adaptor but is there any reason I couldn't just find what pins in the cd connector plug are audio in and make my own adaptor? Basically (but with a nice conetor end) plug the rca wires into audio input? Or does the head unit need a special signal to tell it to switch to the cd changer port? |

there's a microcontroller in there to translate i-bus commands from the head unit. i think all that it does is respond with: "cd-player is present" each time the head unit asks if the cd-player is present and some other replies to cd# and play/stop etc to mimmic what a cd changer would have respond with.
