No,
what year is yours? taking out the bulb, you don't have to take out the whole head light housing.
as I said before, just un screw the black ring type buld holder.

1) Take the dust cap off; being a 2001 it should be made out of hard plastic, and its a round piece on the back of the headlight.

2) turn the bulb ignitor (i think) that is black/red w/ a caution sign on it, and pull it off. Then simply pull the xenon bulb out of the headlight.

3) reinsert new bulb w/o touching glass and undo the previous steps.

If its your highbeams, you need to simply turn the locking ring on the black bulb holders that do not have a dustcap over them, and pull out. Then pull the bulb out of that holder, and place the new one in the old ones spot. Then reinsert the holder to the headlight and turn the locking ring the opposite way to lock it into place.

The manual should have pictures describing how to change them, not a hard task at all. The only problem is the left side because there's no space in that area. You have to shove your hand down there and hope things click together.

The manual sucks. It's unusable for this change out of low-beam xenon bulb. In my opinion, it's intentional so we will go, like sheep, to the shop to get it done.

Rrrrrrrrrrrr

.
Mine is an '03. The dust cap appears to be a hard plastic cap 2.5-3.5 inches in diameter. I've looked at innumerable videos and I haven't seen anyone's look like mine.

Does that just twist off CCW? Or is it screwed in place?

I don't want to take the whole headlight assembly out. Frustrating.
