TP feature on radio

My cd radio was just replaced and I have a new button that says TP. What does this do?

Here in the UK it means traffic programme gives info on any road problems, traffic jams etc. and overides the radio station or whatever CD you may be listening to when the information is being broadcast.

Why is it that when these so called "BMW techs" at the dealership replace the radio they suddenly forget to set the Area to USA instead of the NoArea default? They can do the same thing 100 times and still they do not know how it really works. Your radio area have to be changed to the USA using the Service Mode...

The new 2005 decks don't play mp3s i dont think. I have a 2005 m3 and i think i accidently put an mp3 cd in it and it spit it back out, but who knows maybe it was a blank disc

I was told that the TP button is indeed a traffic button that can feed info from XM or sirrus. Does the car have sirrus or xmsr?

TP is an European feature, his radio is incorrectly set for the USA...
