Trunk lid brake light

being fellow E46 owners you may or may not be aware that on the trunk lid(not to be confused with the taillights) there is a red lense below the reverse light. After taking apart the trunk i found that the bulb carrier has only one slot to plug the reverse light in and the opening where the little red lense is-covered. I tried calling a local BMW parts dept. to see if i could order the bulb carrier that had an opening for this "dummy" lense that is there for show, but they said they had nothing. I wanted to know if any of you knew about this and or if you know where to get the part to make it functional

thats for the rear fogs available on the euro models, you would need to rewire your car and get a new LCM with the button to turn then on/off.

I've done it. I ordered the bulb carriers from the dealer and tied it to my brake lights. Looks great!

I actually have the light active, stock. I think when facelifted, at least sedans, came out they are just tied to the tail lights.
