Fish wash ashore after tsunami hits...Prehistoric animals...Amazing pictures...

Thought you all would be interested in this...Try not to flame...They are only fish. Some of these are amazing...I wouldn't want to run into any of them while scuba diving.

From Snopes.com:

http://www.snopes.com/photos/tsunami/creature.asp

Quote:
Claim: Photographs show unusual deep-sea creatures washed up by the December 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

Status: False.

Example: (the bogus email)

Origins: It seems like any unusual or remarkable photographs connected with oceanic phenomena are being attributed to the Indian Ocean tsunami of December 2004, and this collection of pictures is more of the same.

Although they are genuine images of some rather strange deep-sea creatures, these photographs have nothing to do with the Indian Ocean tsunami. They date from mid-2003 and were taken as part of the NORFANZ voyage, a joint Australian-New Zealand research expedition conducted in May-June 2003 to explore deep sea habitats and biodiversity in the Tasman Sea. These photographs can be viewed on Australia's National Oceans Office web site .

True or false, it appears these fish are still around. They really look prehsitoric, and pobably are. I think that is amazing that a species can live for so long. I cant imagine some of the stuff that has not been seen yet

Werd. I think they live like a couple miles under water. Most of them are blind because there is no light down there.

wow great post thanks!
these creatures have existed longer than man. nothing to worry, if you see them swimming around you, you are probably dead or close to be so.
