Battery light flashing

Tonight after I had my car washed on the way home my battery light started flashing (genuine battery not even a year old) car was driving ok until I stopped at the lights and put indicator on which started flashing real fast then a light on the dash came up to say brake light and headlight was out. 10 mins later sure enough as I turn into my street with my worried friend waiting to see if I make it home the light goes off and everything goes back to normal?? could it be my alternator?

Sounds like it. You can get the alternator checked by an auto electrician

Today it's been fine but obviously nervous driving it. Might get racv to come do an alternator test before taking it in.

Just got told racv replace alternators? Would they use Bosch or their own brand anybody had one done by them? Reluctant to get them to supply one after a crappy experience with their batteries.

Most likely a Bosch, Valeo, etc reconditioned unit. Best thing to do would be to ask RACV what brand alternator they are able to supply.

So I took my car to my mechanic yesterday and it tested up fine. Really hope it doesn't happen again.
