MateRing them up and complain you should be able to get out of it if it’s for excess data usage. Tell them that you want to go on a higher plan and to back date it. If they don’t threaten that you will lodge a complaint with the telecommunications ombudsman. They actually get a $800 fine if you lodge a complaint regardless if you are in the right or wrong. So they should sort you out.

seldo, already contacted the TIO and then called telstra and got it down to $450. it wasnt exactly easy and took up my whole day, but was definitely worth it!
it wasnt for excess data usage.

Guys,
I consult to companies on their Telecommunications needs with view to reduce their costs, as such Have looked at, measured and analysed pretty much all the deals in the market. And for Home I would recommend getting IINET Naked DSL. This is $59.95 / month and you get ADSL2 20/1mg plus 50 gig peak and 50 Gig off-peak for download traffic. You also get $0 line rental, unlimited free local calls, unlimited free National calls, and relatively cheap international calls and calls to mobile. But I would suggest that if you are going to call a mobile then use your mobile. As For mobiles. I found the 3 cap plans the best value for money and quality of network. If you sign up with 3 you run across the 3 network and the Vodafone network and when neither is available you roam onto the Telstra network. There is no additional charge for calls when roaming ob the Telstra network. only data. but you just done down load music when your roaming.

And I just bought internet
I might have to get a package next time with a landline included, sounds like much better value.

Hello people =] Renae here
This Aussie part of the forums looks like the place to be. Telstra are shocking to deal with. I live on a property and if something goes wrong with the home line it takes them a couple of days to get a technician out there. |
