I could work in the burbs but in my industry all the offices are in the CBD or North shore...

So sucks for me...but yeah i get like 1 hour 15 mins for lunch its pretty sweet... Friday is usually 2 hours +, then you have client lunches = 2-3 hours...

Some silly bugger just came off his R1 going round the corner in front of work.
Looked painful..if only he was wearing more than a helmet, jumper, boardies and runners.

Yeah thats the problem with most riders today, they think they're indestructable in their boardies, t-shirt and sneakers. Whats really scary is seeing them with pillions in much the same gear and with thongs on, ouch.

I ride myself, and even on hot days, I still wear at my draggin jeans and my summer jacket with boots and gloves.

I wonder if they ever think what'll happen to their hands and knees when they come off, even at 30km/h or less.

My dad and partner never ride without all their gear on either. There's no way in hell I'd jump on the back with anything less than full gear on.

serviced my alfa today myself (oil, oil filter, radiator flushed/ filled, air filter, transmission, brakes, power steering, spark plugs etc.) I tell you what pretty easy engine to navigate. I hate to say it but I'm forming an attachment to my temporary car between BMW's lol. Such a temperamental car. If you reward it, it rewards you. I can see how these alfitsi's become addicted to these cars!

oh dont worry I have a weekend coming that will reaffirm my love of all things BMW. The funny thing is the reason I serviced it was so it wont be running like a pig for the event and embarrass me by breaking down or something

shuddup, shuddup, shuddup............ Ive got a friends R1 im riding at the moment. i dont want to be reading about all these dropped bikes and jinx myself.

edit: i always ride in my leather jacket and with gloves. I was riding with a friend years ago, doing 70km/hr and we both went for the middle lane at the same time around a corner, i was on the inside and in front though so i didnt see my mate, and he saw me last second, turned his bike away and dropped it. Its front wheel went under my back wheel, my back wheel kicked up so i was on the front wheel looking att eh ground. landed with my thigh on my bike and just stayed on.
Turned around and saw my mate rolling on the ground to a stop.
I parked bike on median strip, rand back to him and he gets up and goes.." **** that would have looked awesome from behind!"
Meanwhile he wasnt wearing gloves, his mobile phone that was in his jeans pocket just ripped straight through and his knees were a bit cut up. Very lucky

My Ride: slow and steady
^ I've been looking at getting my riding license, but these stories put me right off...

On another note, I want to replace the micro filter. Any ideas where I can buy it from locally aside from a dealer?

Cheers

If you have the part number, you can get it from Repco etc and they will give you an OE alternative most of the time. I still suggest shipping from O/S, cheaper and easier most of the time!
