For me it is the same as unlocking the doors... I just make sure I am within range of the car, then press and hold the unlock button, and it will put the top down

I preffer to do it via the door though, cos if you stick the key in the door, it will put the windows down as well (I never drive with the windows up if the roof is down). I know putting the key in the door works for closing the roof too.

Mine does not put the top up remotely though, but hey, since when do I ever wanna close it lol

Strange, on the Coupe's you can open the sunroof and wind down all the windows by using the key fob. Same for putting them up again, bit strange that you can lower the roof on the cab but not the windows.

i have tried keeping the unlock button pressed down to see if anything happens but nothing ill try it again and make sure im within range etc.
but the range on these things is ugly!!
the door key way of doing it is pretty cool though, i prefer to sit in the car and do it though

Well your car might not have it...

I agree that teh range on the key fob is pretty shocking though

I am the oposite of you, I hate being around the car when I put down the top (or up), so I preffer to sit whereever I am like a cafe or something, and put it down remotely

definently dont have it... might have a crack at that DIY Guide on the weekend and see how complicated it is. lol

well if I could sit at a cafe and do it remotely then i would too i meant i prefer to do it sitting in the car rather than stand and hold the key in the door.

and i just realised my original post with the pics shouldve gone in the showroom section, sorry.

ok this has been bothering me ever since i lowered my car.... the headlights are pointing down cause i guess they think the car is under load ?? how do i get them to point back up to the normal position?!?!? i can hardly see anything at night due to the headlights only lighting up probably 1 metre infront of me... the instruction manual says the Xenon headlights are auto, so how do i get them back to normal?
any help would be great.

i think there are manual black rubber 'screws' facing upwards just behind the light unit. turn them either way and they'll adjust.

Yep, that's right. Is the auto leveling working on the car? Do the lights tilt down and back up again when you start the car?

There is a very easy fix to this... I know, cos it happened to me too, and ocassionally reverts back to LOW again...

If i get a chance tomorrow I will take a pic and to show you how to do it, but for now, I will just explain

You have Bi-Xenons or auto levelling beams dont you?

Anyway, at the back near the middle of the light assembly, there is a small black hole that fits an allen key. The one on the left hand side is easy enough to find, but the one on the right is a little harder, as (on mine) there are a bunch of cables concealing the hole, just push them aside, and it is underneath there All you do is simply find the right sized key and keep turning till it is at the height you like It's easiest if you do it against a wall, then you are going to get an accurate measurment. You are going ot notice it is not perfect when you drive it the next time at night, so it would be wise to take the allen key with you to adjust it!

Even when mine were low they still did this. They just didn't come up to the right height...

search under "remote top" and its the first post that comes up... its by WT330CI and its found in the General E46 section, but the search will bring it as first thread. its pretty concise and very thorough... i cant wait to try it out.

Miss325 & JamesH81: fixed my headlight problem and wound them up manually. Cheers
