So its like what most people would just call racing

kind of but ur not racing around a track, there are motokhana events in townsville where its a small section where they can set up slaloms or hairpin tunrs and the sorts, its not an actual race but you are rated on how well you car can turn thats it, you get judges on smoothness and speed of doing the course

can anyone recommend a shop/person in Sydney to buff/polish my car? i want a pro job.

secondly a decent hand car wash that does a proper job without charging an arm and leg.

lastly, in Canada its very simple to get a complete car's history from any car dealer (not specific brand dealer all big small dealerships have access) is there a service in Australia to get a cars compelte history no. of prev owners etc.

http://www.dmsdetailing.com.au/

Great bloke and he does top notch detailing. Haven't used him personally, but some of the other members have used his services and he pleases even the most pedantic and finicky owners.

+1 for DMS. He details my car and does an incredible job. There are before and after shots of the work he did on my car here.

There is a good detailer in Melbourne you can use Nae323, I would recommend him without an issue.
