Agree that plenty of people with heaps of money aren't interested in cars at all.

Ummm just becuase you have heaps of money doesnt mean you are into cars YOAMG...

My uncle is a builder and he has a property portfolio of like 10+ residences in good areas near the water/beach in high demo areas..

He owns all 100% and has loads in the bank and he drives some 1994 Ford Falcon.

Guess he just does not care about cars like some people, every one has different interests, for example he is all ways overseas on trips....

But its like most people who own cars which are worth big money, they might rent a house in a **** area...

Personally Property is way more appealing to me then cars....

ive seen the same thing first hand.. i know people with big pay packets, and drive average cars... i know en ex CEO of a big mining company
.. who drives an AU falcon..

even if ur not into cars, at the end of the day u still need one to drive around in, and if uve got the cash, why not make it something above average, to reward yourself for the hard work uve put in over the years to earn the money..

each to their own though i guess

For some of those people with money, they've made it by investing wisely and not tying it up in depreciating assets which provide a negative NPV. Hence they balk at spending a penny more than they need to on them.

Not saying it's what i'd do personally, but i've met enough people with that mindset.

also maybe he's a greenie looking after the trees and whales etc driving the prius...............actually, maybe he's doin an undercover stint on the sea shepherd at the moment.

The lifecycle of a Prius generates substantially more emissions than a V8 commodore, so maybe his just another sheep-do-gooder-greenie.

100% spot on. Some business people are all about business in everything. No way they're gonna throw any money on a depreciating asset.

Totally, however lots of them are into other things however if it isn't cars (overseas trips, nice house, holiday houses, boats, planes etc) very few live the Buffett mantra to the nth degree.

on this subject, did anyone see the superyacht parked in rosebay yesterday? i dont think ive ever been so in love with a boat in my life.

i almost freaked when the seaplane landed next to it.

Man if you splooged at something that pulled into sydney then you will loose your mind at some of the vessels in Europe it is like being a kid in a candy store

considering dropping some dough on lowering my car...options are JAMEX or JOM coilovers, or some King Springs (probably have to get some new shocks then too)

opinions? or alternatives?

Pedders Coilovers? WORX recommends them pretty highly

yeh they're closer to $2k yeh? was thinking about them, but for that price i'd probably import some from modbargains

AFAIK the pedders coilovers at 1.8k are a complete installed price.

1.400 for the pedders. They are Just BC sports rebadged anywho. If you want them I can get them next day.
