I'd like to, but I'm not in a huge rush, at least until I sell the old e46. I've got a car I'm using here currently, but it's no 3 series.

Just finishing it up. I've got a few different designs for you to look over. I'll have 'em to you this week.

G'day fellas.
This may not be the place to post this but having read the posts about the imminent death of this thread I thought I might put it here to keep the Aussie thread going. I currently have a dakkar yellow 320ci. It has a K&N panel filter in the original air box, eibach lowered springs and koni shocks, as well as a simple 3-inch straight through muffler. If I knew how to record the sound I would. I love it. Anyway - I have wanted an E46 M3 and it looks as though I will have the funds to purchase one later in the year. I am looking at spending about $90,000.00. I can get something with around 30-40,000 kms with that sort of money and will be able to get something with maybe a few less kays later in the year (about 6 months) when more E92s are on the market. Well the dilemma is this - the 135i is coming out later in the year and will be priced (as I see it) at around $80-90,000.00 so pretty much square on with a second hand M3. The 135i will be a little slower than the M3 and will certainly not be as focused in its handling and body control as the M. The other side of the coin is that the 135i is turbo charged and therefore the potential for further power gains is significantly better at a better cost to power ratio. So - I want some advice - what do I do? Get the legend M3 or get the new 135i which may be tuned into a scorcher? Pros and cons would be appreciated. Cheers guys. Tim.

Although it pains me to say, you probably will be able to get a 2006 M3 at the end of the year for that coin with those kays or less. I have seen a few low kay 2005 models for that price. I drove the 130 and was shocked, its a great little car. Reviews that I read say the 135 will be a great car but an ///M is a ///M. This was cemented after my recent driver training course, the non m cars are good enough but the M3 is something else. If you are after mods, another option could be to by an older e46 M3 for alot less money and super/turbocharge it. I would be hesitant to go modifying a car under warranty. Dwayne |
