if its valued at over 1000 AU including shipping ull get hit with import tax. doesnt matter if its a gift etc.

and theyll either call you and you pay over the phone, or customs will send you a letter to pay at post office, or your shipping company will contact you for payment.

hey guys, been a while since i posted. finally started thinking bout getting a new car....thought about a fair few other cars (S2k, and all the usual *** rwd cars) but i'm back on the e46 again, it's like a drug
I'd like to hear from any manual 325/328Ci owners...roll call on subframe repairs? Sorry, I know it's been done to death, so feel free to ignore.
i'd like the extra torque and cable throttle on the 328Ci, but i feel like i'm tempting the gods by going for an early model e46 coupe...
also, anyone know if BMW honour the subframe repairs 10+ years after build date? Just though there might be a cutoff...Anya was like 9.5 years when she was repaired, so i never asked.
I might give Clive from BMW Aus a call and ask him if he'd honour the repair on a 10+ yr old car, other criteria notwithstanding.

Also, if i manage to find a good condition coupe, i'd wanna get the TMS reinforcement kit. doesn't look too pricey by itself BUTTT any idea on the labour charge/hours required for welding with/without rear suspension dissembly?

Anyway, feels nice to be posting again

ahaha, yeh thought about the e36M3 but insurance + maintenance + dated interior/exterior puts me off. don't think i need ALL that power. and if i was thinking about something like that, i'd probably rather get the Honda S2000

edit: dunno about budget yet...haven't done all the maths yet, but i'm guessing up to 25, maybe a bit more. don't want to have to spend all of it though.

You are quite right mate.
Have to settle for a bigger car otherwise would stick with E46.

I've got the TMS reinforcement kit. IIRC it cost me ~$500 labour to have my cracks welded and reo kit welded in after.

Bummer. Yeah will try this first, hopefully fixes the problem. The car has 64k on the clock so it cant be too major.
