Are we there yet??

Are 255/40R18 and 255/35R19 the same width
I believe they should be the exact same width but I am not sure.
Reason I am asking is the rear rims I bought are 9.5 width, I was going to run 265/35R18 on the rears because i thought the 255 might look to stretched. But then I saw some 255/35R19's on the M3 with CSL wheels which are 9.5 wide and they didnt look so bad. So I am curious if they are the same width and also which summer tires are a wider width. I am looking at the Goodyear GS-D3's

They are the same width. 255mm through the widest part of the cross-section. The sidewall height is shorter on the 19's, though.
