Just found US version of hidden menu....

I had it in German, which I can read fluently, but didn't really want to translate it. Well, I just found the US version flipping through my Bentley service manual on page 620-4 and 620-5. I do not have a scanner, but can someone scan this on here, so it's on this site?

Can I set my car to auto lock the doors after taking off by using this menu or is that a bmw programming issue??
Right now my car does not lock them for me.

No you can not. Purchase the BMW Scanner 1.4 from xcar360.com. It is $32, and its a code scanner/programming tool that every E46 owner should have.

Yes you need the adapter to read anything besides the OBDII engine emission data.

Connections to any other system/module will be through the 20 pin port under the hood. (ABS/Air bag?DSC/Transmission, IHKA, GM5 etc)

Lots of great E46 info in the Wiki-
http://www.bimmerfest.com/wiki/index...vice_indicator

It only applies to the cars with the 20 pin socket under the hood. I believe model years 1999 - mid year 2000 have the 20 pin connector.

When BMW removed the 20 pin socket under the hood, all modules/systems can be accessed through the 16 pin connector (the ONLY one the new cars have)

OH that's great!!! I got the trial version. LoL
I will order the adapter cable when I order the scanner.
I wont need the technical stuff tho. Just want to be able to change settings without going to a dealer...
auto door lock, window function, daytime running lights, etc.
BTW What lights are on when the DRL are enabled and what would be the difference between EU, US, and US2?
Thanks for your help!!!

This is all I need to disable my DRLs? I have an 01 325iT. Just making sure.

Why does everyone say the dealer has to do it for $100+ or an Indy with a GT1?

Anyone used this device with Vista or 7? The site says it's only compatible with Windows XP. Who still has a computer with XP on it?

I got it up and running with the 20 pin connector on Windows 7 64 Bit.

Make note that without the 20 pin you can still view and clear codes, you just cant code anything (enable/disable features).

Yes. People are ignorant of their options or just too lazy to do it themselves, so they end up overpaying.

Fully compatible with Win7 32-bit. 64-bit requires a workaround.

323/328 owners (any BMW under 2000MY) require the 20 pin adapter.

Inner halogen lights are on if you have DRL's activated.
Same lights that come on if you pull back on the light stalk.
