Apparently you don't know what a ecu chip or reflash is. Don't be so quick to raise the flag..

Im just going by what BMW specs are, and they are not wrong. I've owned both cars E36 325 and 2000 328 CI. and both cars are limited to what BMWs literature states. I cant say much about the 330's, but I can believe that 330s do 150, thats if not limited. If it was true and concerned about saying the truth, then that would be stated. Im not quick to judge, but at least they can say it was flashed. trust me I've raced many Civics because I cant take the and eventhough my car is limited to 138-139 I still wipp their asses. If is not the overheating excuse or I missed a gear is something else.

Did you totally miss what I said? Your car is capable of much more then 139..remove the damn limiter.

My 2001 325iT still has a limiter -- but both my wife and I have gotten the speedo up to 137 . . . inaquerate speedo or limiter (I like to think the latter).

???

Don't believe everything you read, especially BMW literature. BMW will in many cases understate a lot of specs/performance numbers. They have for years, and it seems to be a good formula for them.

My 328i has an ECU reflash, as I nearly reached 150 (149 exactly) with my stock differential. Yes, governed, it's stopped at 128 for US. Just get a good software and lose the speed-limiter as mentioned before.

Well, my cousin's '93 Civic HB would top out at 146mph. But, he had a JDM Integra Type-R engine & transmission, and host of other mods. All motor he pulled 13.1 @ 107mph, though I don't know what his 0-60 was. Sold it soon after marrying, as it was either the wife, or the car, hehe. She hated that Civic.

^...the speedometer's inaccuracies are proportional to the speed, so the faster you go the more off your speedometer will be.

http://www.caranddriver.com/article....rticle_id=1907

If you're speedo says 137 then your actual speed is probably closer to 128-130

Possibly, although a deviation of 9mph would be more than the average provided in that report. . . could be.
What I never understood about this argument as it relates to the limiter is: where is the limiter getting its signal from? If the car thinks its going 137 (even if it is only going 128 at that point) wouldn't the limiter have kicked in earlier? Is the limiter just tied in to rpm instead of speed? Otherwise, why doesn't it kick in when the car thinks I'm going 128, even if I'm actually only going 120-121?

I prefer to think that the governor change from 137.5 to 128 that took place with the 2001 cars did not affect the first month of 2001 production (which mine was) . . . so that my limiter is still at 137.5, which correlates with what I saw.

How and where? I think I'm going to buy a space ECU just to play it safe and by the way my cars does really good on gas, that shouldn't affect my MPG? let me know where can I get that removed. Thanks

Lol, I was just kidding. I can only hit 149.7 limited by the 3.46 gears in my car, it gets there much faster than before though! I have headers, full exhaust, intake, pulleys, shark injector.

Hello,

Picture isn't great but I saw 153 on speedo and 153 on GPS on a recent trip to France. It didn't have anything left really but felt solid.

Thats in a 330 vert with 19" alloys, speedo very acurate to GPS

Cheers
