Hey i keep hearing "governed" in this post.. whats that?

And as far as the top speed, I went a little over 120m a couple weeks ago on the BQE when i was testing the speed of my 330*Kris try not smile if u read this since u were in the car* hAhA.
Altho it was such a rush i must admit i wont do it again, since my friend who was tryn to catch up to me in his matrix got into an accident. BUT for Beamer for better speed and handling compare to my old car mustang where i felt like the car was gonna tipped off any minute when i went a little over 80.

My car is a 01 330ci with a Dinan Intake(Which i discovered last week). I bought the car last November. Oh and i also have an aftermarket exhaust and dunno what kind (can some1 help me find out how to find out what kind of exhaust it is? Cuz i was pretty surprised when i found out that i had a dinan intake.
Spring is almost here ... and im starting my project soon .

a car that is "speed governed" is one in which the ECU does not allow the car to exceed a certain speed. the "governer" is typically removable via an ECU/software flash (or in my case, b/c my 1994 Supra has OBDI diagnostics, i'm able to bypass the speed governer simply by pulling my TRAC fuse...of course this disables my traction control, but i don't use it anyways ). before i was only able to reach 155mph (even though i never tried to top it out with the governer still active). now that the governer has been removed, i should be able to hit 180+mph.

HAHAHA! Damn I didn't read every page, but some people are seriously afraid of speed... which is a GOOD thing!
But the fastest I have gone with my bimmer is 160 km/h (100 mp/h). The funny thing is... I used to have a Toyota Matrix XR (4 cylinder w/ airbox removed) at about 3 am... I raced my brother (2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT which is a little bit faster than my bimmer and on exit 35 we floored it all the way to exit 33 and I topped out the Matrix 183 km/h (114mph)... of course by that time bro was going about 225km/h (140mph) which is the top speed of the Eclipse... it was the good times, good times.

By the way that was on Interstate 385.
And make sure you drive careful w/ them fast cars!

138 but not gonna do it anytime soon, this was on the NJ turnpike at 3am w/ valentine on loudest setting. Yea these German cars, you can be doing 80 and it'll feel as steady as a rock, one time i hit 100 by accident. My friend looked at the speedo from the back seat and said bro youre doing 100, i was like shit

I hit 110ish all the time when I take it to work. The car is still new to me and it just seems like it will go all the way to top out with ease.

its as smooth at top speed as it is at 85.... these cars were made for the autobahn.... but i still feel more at ease on a bike at these speeds.. i feel as i have more control... just can't think about a tire blowing...
