Wireless company in Silicon Valley. Network protocols + Linux kernel + device drivers, essentially platform development. I've been in the industry about 8 years now. Started with an internship at Cisco and this is the fourth company I've worked for. Moving around every few years is critical here.

Are you a sales engineer (SE) or a software engineer? Good to see people in the same industry here.

Things have changed for me since my last post in this thread.

22 (23 in June) - $130k+

My income comes from the salary I take out of my business, projected commission for 2008, and rental income

last year i made 2.48 million im a drug runner

actually I jsut got out of school got my gas ticket seems so many of you are computer techs i didnt see a single trademan on here cept for possibly a mechanic but i guess we jsut typically drive trucks..............
ah well i make at the moment 18 an hour but im demanding a raise in the next week or so i talked to another company and he said he would atart me off at 26 so thats about 52 000 a year not 2 bad i put in my 40 hours a week for them pay tax on that and when i work on the weekends i make good coin usually around 100 bux an hour cash minimum as i have no overhead and a buddys wife works at the supplier so i get the employee rates on everything. Im 21 as of last week live at home and invest 18% of my check before taxes.
Im gonna buy a chunk of land build my own house its sickening how much money contractors take. I personally myself could do most of the plumbing all heating, AC gas fitting pull all the wire drywall,(minus mud and tape) roof paint with my uncles help HW floors tiles counters cupboards save alot of money doing your own labour. my mom is a finincial advisor and she always says its not what u make its what u do with the money u make.
