It's not about how much you make, it's about how much do you work.

Simple example, my friend a doctor, works his ass off to make about 259K/year. Another friend who is a software engineer, makes about 100k/year but only works 4 days a week (32 hours per week). The rest of the time he is clubbing, working out, and cooking.

Which one would rather be? Of course the one who makes 100K. Because you'll enjoy the money and the stress-free life compared to making twice as much but be stressed and working more.

According to wikipedia, I make twice the average salary of a Maryland resident.

I'm 27 and work in sales dealing primarily with large, highly financed organizations within the federal government (DOT, DOD, etc) and Fortune's Global 500. We provide consulting and software platforms for organizations ranging from 80-800k annual licensing agreements.

I've always been of the mindset "only mod with that which you could burn"... but you would be amazed with the number of individuals who will spend their last dime (even take out mortgages on their homes) to mod. My body shop once had a Supra at their shop for about 6 months while this guy "saved" to pay for the work done... he was in his late 30s

i wonder what the results would be in a poll that illustrated people's yearly income, age, car model, and property ownership.

I would imagine everyone has a different pecking order in terms of "personal responsibility". What you may think is being personally responsible may not be to another person....and not to mention, what business is it of yours what people do with their money in terms of their lifestyle choices?

Wow....what does the business do? I would imagine you would have the necessary experience to run a company that renders $700K per year?

My dad owns all rights and and is the main and only distributer of Boars Head Brand in Indiana. But I have a fairly good experience with the company since I've seen him run it since I was a kid, and I'm at Loyola Chicago for business. He also owns around 35% in a construction and development company called, Browning Construction. But I'll be lucky if I even get that in the first 10 years! Because my dad isn't the type of person who just hands anyone anything.. He wants me to work for it, so I have to do something similar to venture capitalism and pay him a portion of money each year of what I make to buy the company over a certain time span. But otherwise we're simple, we don't go showing off money at all.

i don't really care, but i think its interesting. for a while after i joined, i thought that there were a lot of people making much more then me, but its mostly people living beyond their means.
i couldn't give a fawk less if someone wants to drive an expensive car and live in a shitty apartment with roommates. it just seems silly to me.
