Props to all you young business owners out there , I wanted to start a company, and still do, but I don't have a good idea yet. Owning a business is probably the only real way for limitless income, imo.

OK, I have to ask. How in the hell do you start a PHd program at (barely) 19 years old?

$85G a year added with wife's income = $155G. Age...it doesn't matter.

Yeah, maybe, but it seems virtually impossible. In order to start your PHd you need to have a Master's degree, and obviously a four-year undergrad degree. Not to mention the kind of grades you have to have for entrance into a program like that.

Master's programs are at least two years for the normal person. So, this means he finished six year's worth of school and had time off to begin a job making $60K (which I would say had to be at least 1 - 1.5 years) all by the time he was barely 19. He had a Master's degree by the time he was ~17.5 years old???

Either he's trying to impress people without having any idea what he's talking about, or he's an absolute genius. If it's the former, I say , but if it's the latter I want to know his story!!

^^^ If this is true on what he's saying, he's an absolutely masterful genius, I would say.

Im' 17 and make aprx. 41,300 /yr before tax. Im going to University in 2007 (coming back an extra semester to highschool to open up my career paths even more).

What do I do? Two "real" jobs, and internet-related activites on the other.

On Saturday and Sunday I work for Tribute Communities; I sit in a 3800sqft home on a puffy leather couch watching a 42" Plasma TV with full-frontal cable for 12$ hr; 7 hrs a day. I am a house sitter that makes sure people dont steal a vase or something while they are looking at the model homes.

Throughout Monday to Friday I work for Air Canada as a Grounds Attendant (Baggage) and get paid 12.75/hr.

Internet activities include eBaying which brings in about 150 a week, design/site related sales averaging about 120 a week, and 60 a week in backup/copy services (VHS > DVD Conversion, Photo Prints, etc.)

Im planning to followthrough with this throughout University to avoid having any debt while saving the the majority left-over after educational expenses; get my BA in Business, find a decent placement, go for MBA; and then to the top!

EDIT; Remember: Keep your goals high, and be optimistic about life and you'll get to where you want to be!

No, you can go right into a PhD program after an undergrad degree. still...not an easy thing to do at that age. Im dissapointed that he didn't come back, because he's either bulls hitting, or would be very interesting to talk to....

holy thread revival

26, ~120k. depends on bonuses, professional fees, etc.

made anywhere from $0-$3k a year from high school through college, law school etc. then take into account the crushing student loans.

being broke and in debt sucks. i dont ever wanna be like again

ever ...

also, bs on anyone in their teens making anywhere near 6-digits unless they are in tech/software development, corporate sales or own their own business.

LMAO it's so true i dunno why so many kids on the board feel the need to BS i mean i'm still a student, and while I may not be BROKE, i am definately not making ANYWHERE NEAR a 6 figure salary just enough to get by...gas/insurance, the odd 'night out with friends'.....that about eats up my earnings

if anyone is seriously under the age of 20 and is making over 60k.... !

Wow, I dont make near enough to be on this forum...

Almost 25

$40,400/year salary

Buying the ZHP threw my debt to income so far out of wack that I cant buy a house now

I'm having no problem paying for it and my current house (Selling for $150,000)...

I might get a second opinion...

Or I might just move in with some friends for about 6 months, concentrate on building up a large down payment on a house. I'll have about a $10,000 start when I close on this house...

Props to those making big $$

Soon I'd like to go back to school part-time. I have a 2year associates degree right now, but I'll have to turn it into a 4 year to move up in my company any futher. I'm not topped out as far as salary goes, just topped out on position advancement...

To be 20 and be making $40k/yr is pretty damn good. I remember when I got out of college I made about $36/yr at 22.
