What do you think of Hankook Z212 for track use?

Title says it all.

I'm running on Falken 451's. I'm very happy with them, but they are slowly wearing out.

I do not have, and won't be getting this year, another set of wheels strictly for track use, so i'm looking for a compromise tire, and the Hankook Z212 was suggested.

I'm not a fan of Hankook, but these things practically do not wear out, and I would be getting them at a very good price.

What do you guys think?

Once to twice a week.

And each time I go track, I'm on roughly for four to five 20 min sessions with 20 minute cool down intervals.

I have only used PS and now PS2s. I am a Michelin junkie just because I have abused the tires and they have proven up and beyond my expectation. So can't give my feedback on other brands. Also recently invested in a set of track wheels + tires.

If you're already planning to acquire a set of track wheels/tires, then go with something that will last you for the streets and occasional track for now.

You sound like a fellow track junkie. Post some pictures sometime.

PS2's would be way to costly for the amount he tracks.

I'm sure you will enjoy the Z212, but they do tend to get a little greasy once they get very hot.

I've recently ordered Z211's as my dedicated track wheels, but since Montreal is still under 2 feet of snow, it'll be a while before I give my impressions.

I'll do the same about the GranSport brake pads, given that the GS3 have been dubbed as 'HP Blues that are streetable.'

Mr Paddle Shift:

I'll try to dig up a picture or two and post them.
