Hey Alex, are you going to try to find a pre-made wiring harness or are you going to build/make your own?

I can't believe you ordered the auto-leveling plug housing/connectors without me! Way to buddy fock your buddy. When are you going to tell me about it?

Anyhow, I think it is much cheaper and faster to make our own wiring harness since we have the brushing contacts and the plug housing. All we need is electrical tape and electrical wire. What do you think????

Talk about Blue Falcon didn't someone order the brushing contacts? Anyways the plugs already came with the headlights I did not have to order it. Yea I agree we make our own wirings I think that we order the same color wires so both you and I can double check each others work and compare the wires. But I'm thinking we can order the wires from BMW. Ok get these wires, the numbers match the Bushing Contacts. We'll just make sure we are on the same track when we wire it up. I figure the higher number 0,75 MM² is the passenger side and the lower number is the Driver side since electricity does not travel as far. But I could be wrong. I'm going to order these parts on Monday.

The Bushing Contacts Call for 0,2-0,5 MM² for P/N 61130005199.

01 CABLE RED-BLACK 0,5 MM² 61121391684
01 CABLE RED-YELLOW 0,5 MM² 61126902614
01 CABLE GREY-GREEN 0,5 MM² 61126908725
01 CABLE BROWN 0,5 MM² 61126908726

Then for Bushing Contact Calls for 0,5-0,75 MM² for P/N 61130008998.

01 CABLE BLUE-YELLOW 0,75MM² 61126908722
01 CABLE BLACK-YELLOW 0,75MM² 61126908723
01 CABLE BROWN 0,75MM² 61131391671
01 CABLE RED-BLUE 0,75MM² 61126902615

Hey Alex,

I was under the impression that the different size of the brushing contact is for the size of the "hole/gap" for the pin.

I don't have very minor electrical knowledge. I will ask around.

Almost there for completion!!!!!!

Looking good so far! I think I will start buying all the parts so I can begin retrofitting it myself also. Time to time I will check this threads for more info. I'm kind of confuse about this bushing and wire cables combination:

The Bushing Contacts Call for 0,2-0,5 MM² for P/N 61130005199.

01 CABLE RED-BLACK 0,5 MM² 61121391684
01 CABLE RED-YELLOW 0,5 MM² 61126902614
01 CABLE GREY-GREEN 0,5 MM² 61126908725
01 CABLE BROWN 0,5 MM² 61126908726

where do these wires connected to??

Other type of contact bushing: 61130008998 is the same contact bushing I've used when I connected the high beam shutter to work on my bixenon High beam. Is it the above contact bushing will be used to all pins (to be inserted in the LCM pins) for both driver and passenger side?

For those who wants the OEM fabric electrical tape:

61-13-6-902-588 (fabic)
61-13-6-920-760 (Polester non-woven)

P.S or you can be cheap like me and just use regular electrical tape from Radio Shack =)

So from the LCM to the headlight units, you dont need to change the connectors right?

you only adding the wires from the leveling sensors to the LCM connector right?

I understand that this DIY is poorly written but I have pointed out numerous time that there are TWO wiring harness.

1) "Wiring Harness A" connects the sensors to the LCM/LKM
2) "Wiring Harness B" connects the headlight's actuator/motor to the LCM/LKM

We (Ausfarhrt and I) are attempting to make "Wiring Harness B" by ourself.
We bought "Wiring Harness A" from Germany. It was pre-made.

ANyhow, stand by. In less than a week Ausfarht and I will finish up this DIY. We will then be able to provide more tips/advice and details to this DIY

The last issue I see is the LCM/LKM. Some people say that we need to buy new a new LCM/LKM. However, I am 95% confident that we don't since it is already flashed for xenon. Let;s wait and see.

ok got it. I bought a kit and it had everything except a new LCM and Wiring Harness B thats why i thought we dont need those.
and the retrofit instructions are for cars that already have the "xenon wiring harness" - B. and a new LCM.
I also think we may need a new LCM.. dealer told me that too

thanks for the DIY its amazing...

You can buy WIRING HARNESS from the following URL for about $75. The company is based in Germany so it will take 2-3 weeks for dilvery. TOMMY_HF from e46fanatics told me about the company. The wiring harness they are selling is OEM Quality. Everything from the length of the wire, contact brushing, electrical wires and to electrical frabic tape is OEM quality,

That website is all german language. I think I know which one but I'm kind of leary to order it. And beside if I click the "place on the Cart" (I think because it's german), nothing happened. Is there a link that translate it to english? I'm about to do the autolevel retrofits myself. I've just ordered all the hardware and some cables from Pacific BMW. (Thanks to ADA and Ausfahrt ). I'm hoping that we don't need a new LCM but I'm pretty sure it will work on our existing LCM since the LCM already reprogrammed to recognized our bixenon and also when I've retroffited the bixenon high beam shutter and also connected to the exisiting LCM, it worked. Crossing my finger.

Ausfarht, What happened to the pictures that you posted, showing the Truwon's LCM against yours? That pictures really help us to see color of the cable wires and what pin number does each wire goes. Can you fix it and repost it again?

Tried to reply once so apologies if this comes through twice - there is a retro-fit kit vailable in the UK for bi-xenon lights and there is a wiring harness listed part # 61-12-9-416-517 'wiring set xenon light'. The level sensors, brackets etc. are listed as part of the same kit so I suspect this is the harness that connects the auto-level sensors to the LCM, don't know if this part is available in the states though, price here in the UK for this harness is 13.70 plus the dreaded vat. Regarding your other point on changing the LCM the retrofit instructions for europe include changing the LCM. I hope this is not the case as I've just had my car recoded for xenons with some advice from you everything works fine but this has disabled the manual electronic height adjust that's available over here. The service tech. did say that there was a fault in the car's memory after recoding 'open circuit on headlight level system'
