Question Programming options for keys

Hello. I am relatively new to the board and recently acquired an off lease 2002 330i. I know that some features like power seat settings, mirror positions and favorite radio stations may be programmed so that the car recognizes the individual key/driver and adjusts the settings accordingly. Can this be done by an individual or do you have to go to the dealership?

Thanks in advance,

flytier

I haven't done mine in a long time but I believe you just need to adjust the seat when the key is set to the on position in the ignition. Do this on each key. As soon as you press the unlock button, it should switch according to key. Hope this helps.

Any of the key options (and there's a lot of them) need to be done at the dealer with their $$$ computer. I think you can find a list of all of the available key and other programmable options somewhere on here, but I'm too lazy to search right now. The next time my car needs service I'm having the computer programmed to change the temp on the HVAC controls to be more in line with reality. Right now 70 feels like 75 and there's a 3 degree +/- range that can be programmed under the key options.

put key in ignition and turn 1 click.

adjust seat/mirrors

hold seat preset and memory button for 5 seconds. Seat is now programmed to that key.

Repeat for additional key(s)
