Tramlining has become worse for me. I have Potenza SO3 Pole Positions now, and went from 255 to 265 in the rear and 225 to 235 in the front. I am sure that didn't help...

With the wider tires the handling has definately changed. I've been playing with the air pressure to dial it in just right. I'm at 34 front and 38 rear and that seems to be working well (whereas 38/46 in the conti-sports worked great). I'm not overly happy with the Summitomo tires I got because the sidewalls are softer than the conti-sports I had on there but hard corning has significantly improved. Braking has improved as well but I think it's mostly because of the wider tires.

As for accelerating... the butt-o-meter doesn't feel a huge difference (someone equated the extra weight to having one 150 pd passenger in the car at all times). I really should have weighed the m68 rims/tire before I put them on my wife's 325iT but I I think they are only about 5-10 pounds lighter at the most. I'll say this, with the 265s the clutch will slip before the tires will... it's a drag machine now... very nice to come off a light with no slipping (or TC light flashing - haha).

These wheels weigh 24 pounds and the m68s weigh 21. The tires are heavier because they are wider... again, I don't notice that much of a difference. Only a 1/4 mile run would really be able to tell the difference. Maybe I'll drop these on the wife's auto and get some official numbers... hmmm.

Oh, and as for Tramlining - not any worse but when I put those M68s on the iT it's horrible. We kept thinking something MUST be wrong with the car because it never followed the ruts like it does now. Of course we went from 205s all around to 225s all around. We played with the tire pressures and after some adjustments to 34/42 it's driving right now. The wider tires have improved the handling.

Oh, the downside of all this, my gas milage went down by 2-3 mpg. Maybe it's because I have a heavier foot now...

lilbimmer, did you lower the car with the 19's? If yes, what type of lowering kit? Thanks.

I bought it as is and I am not sure the prev owner lowered it. Although I must say it appears to have been dropped, but that could be the wheels and tires making it look that way!

The csl reps are lighter than m135s and weigh about what most other 18s weigh. But I had m68s and I have noticed a difference, just not as quick off the line, and it takes a little longer to stop. I will just have to give it more revs off the line now, traction control light might not flash at me now.

Yeh, UUC V2 Springs. It sits pretty low.
Hopefully I find somewhere to roll soon, the wheels look great.

My Ride: 2001 330i Sport
Love my Staggered 19" Velocity Motoring CSLs

I have a 2001 Ti Silver 330i Sport, which I've had for almost two years.

When I took delivery of this BMW Certified sedan, I pledged to my wife that my car modding days are over. ---After two weeks of ownership, the first thing I did was install a set of German Zimmerman cross-drilled/slotted rotors and and replaced my lens to Euro clear lens.

Now recently, two weeks ago I installed UUC V.2 coils. A week ago I installed Eagle Eyes sedan LEDs. This week I installed the staggered 19" VM CSLs with 235/35 and 265/30 GoodYear F1 D3s (well worth the two month wait for the wheels); also installed was the M-Tec II front end. I thought a stock 330i Sport was nice looking! Man, what a difference!! --- As I approached my office parking garage, the guard stopped me. Nothing but compliments poured out of his mouth. . ."factory looking; not over done; perfect raked low stance; very cleanly done; perfect wheels etc. etc." I'm not even going for the M3 mirrors as I had planned.

I'm VERY happy.

I rubbed today on my factory sport suspension 255/18 rear kdw 2. Very minor and a very VERY bug dip.

Nice. How much space is there between the wheel and the fender?
I have a 13.5 JL W7 setup in my trunk, so that alone is the equivalent of a fat person sitting in the rear.
